Description

Green Street is seeking a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) with a proven track record in B2B SaaS marketing to build a world-class global marketing function to lead our marketing strategies and initiatives. As a key member of the Commercial leadership team, the CMO will be central to driving our growth, expanding our market presence, and establishing our brand as a leader in the industry.

The primary objective of this position is to drive revenue and growth of the company. This will be achieved through increasing the active user base, and SMB adoption, through demand generation programs while simultaneously raising the branding and positioning. This will create a unified customer experience that will resonate throughout the entire customer life cycle.

The CMO will play a critical role in shaping the strategy, messaging, and positioning of the company, working directly with the executive leadership team. S/He will ultimately be responsible for defining, building, and overseeing all marketing, processes, budget, and talent. The ideal candidate has significant experience leading marketing within vertical SaaS organizations that have scaled from $150M and over.

This is a highly strategic marketing role, but the ideal CMO will be hands-on with the ability to execute day-to-day. The CMO must have deep lead generation experience, operate in a high-velocity environment, and be sales oriented. The CMO must manage, as well as lead, by getting personally involved in marketing execution to ensure strategic objectives are met. This leader will inherit a highly motivated marketing organization, which they will be responsible for continuing to develop as well as expanding the team and capabilities around them.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and Execute Marketing Strategy: Create and execute comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with company goals and objectives. Drive brand awareness, lead generation, and customer acquisition through innovative and data-driven marketing campaigns.

  • Lead Generation and Conversion: Develop and implement strategies to generate high-quality leads and optimize conversion rates throughout the customer journey. Utilize various channels, including digital marketing, content marketing, SEO/SEM, email marketing, and partnerships. Optimize/develop tools and processes to fast track and nurture leads to improve our ability to generate unique content to drive traffic.

  • Customer Acquisition: Design and execute non-traditional customer acquisition strategies driven by data assessments. Establish, monitor, and communicate key metrics to determine the profitability of channels by product offering. Successfully deliver on varied growth goals across a portfolio of products at different maturities.

  • Performance Measurement & Reporting: Establish KPIs, metrics, and reporting systems to evaluate marketing effectiveness, including ROI analysis, providing regular insights to the leadership team.

  • Brand Marketing and Management: Define and reinforce the company's brand positioning and perception, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels. Oversee the development of brand assets, marketing collateral, and communications materials.

  • Product Marketing: Collaborate with product teams to develop effective product marketing strategies, including product positioning, messaging, and launch plans. Translate technical features into compelling value propositions for the target audience.

  • Digital Marketing: Develop and drive digital marketing initiatives, including SEO/SEM, email marketing, PPC campaigns, and social media strategies, to maximize online presence and customer engagement.

  • Content Strategy: Oversee the creation and distribution of compelling content across various channels (e.g., website, blog, social media, whitepapers) to engage and educate our audience.

  • Account Based Marketing (ABM): Define and execute against an ABM strategy that targets priority accounts and territories.

  • Market Research and Insights: Conduct market research and competitor analysis, assess and maintain company TAM/SAM/SOM, analyze industry trends, and gather customer insights to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation. Use data and analytics to drive informed decision-making.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Build and mentor a high-performing marketing team. Provide leadership, guidance, and professional development opportunities to maximize top talent potential and achieve marketing objectives.

  • Strategic Partnerships: Work closely with our CRO to refine and execute a partnership strategy that increases ARPU.

  • Collaboration and Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate closely with sales, product development, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for marketing initiatives. Foster a culture of results through collaboration and shared goals across departments.

Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of proven experience as a CMO within the B2B SaaS industry, with significant experience delivering results in the SMB market.

  • Demonstrated success in strategic development and management of demand generation, lead management, channel development, and product/market segmentation strategies leading to substantial customer acquisition and revenue growth.

  • A data-driven and customer-centric approach to establishing marketing strategies, key initiatives, and the metrics to determine the profitability of channels, by product offering.

  • Strategic thinker with excellent business acumen and analytical abilities; capacity to translate data into actionable insights.

  • M&A experience strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated executive presence, judgement, action orientation and ability to drive results.

  • Experience leading channel marketing and/or partnerships is preferred, but not mandatory.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Global private equity portfolio company experience preferred.

  • An undergraduate degree is required; MBA preferred.

  • Authorization to work in the United States now and in the future, without visa or sponsorship requirements

Working Conditions: The Chief Marketing will work indoors in an air-conditioned office building and must be able to remain stationary at a desk and computer for a majority of the day.

Travel Percentage: 10-15%

Salary Description

$200,000 - $250,000 base salary + incentive bonus
