Our ideal Chief Marketing/Brand Officer is hyper alert to consumer trends in the market, with the ability to translate them into compelling brand stories that resonate with audiences in relevant and upcoming new media channels, while creating and managing the image of the brand, increasing the value of the brand and building a unified culture around the brand.
This position leads the development of content that will increase engagement and the acquisition of authentic and new customers as fans, followers and advocates, and ultimately as customers of our products and retail channels.
A key component is creating strategic partnerships that significantly increase our reach - through partnerships in our industry, but also outside of it, with public figures, influencers, bloggers, artists, key online sites, and cross category brands that we can develop cross-collaborations and create hype. This role also pursues sponsorship opportunities that align with our brand image and values.
This position plays a key role in product development. New products will be developed to support the brand ethos and increase awareness and sentiment with new markets and new customers. Position will also launch new product lines, such as apparel and accessories, that generate customer demand and excitement about the brand.
Other key areas:
Storytelling: Creating a consistent brand is the element of storytelling. This includes making decisions, through language, product design and packaging and content creation, how to most effectively share the story and vision of a company.
Design: Understanding how design elements like color, fonts and graphics can best represent our company, and which are more suited to our brand.
Public relations: Helping our organization in how we represent to the public.
Key areas of growth will include the following KPI's: Awareness that converts to traffic & revenue & Acquisition of new customers.
Experience:
Significant experience in marketing roles is essential, typically ranging from 10 to 15 years or more. This experience should include progressively responsible positions in marketing, advertising, branding, and strategic planning. Experience in leadership and management roles, especially within marketing teams, is crucial.
Education:
A bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or a related field
Industry Knowledge:
A deep understanding and expertise in the cannabis industry is highly valued. This includes awareness of industry trends, market dynamics, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to effectively lead marketing strategies.
Strategy:
This position demonstrates strong strategic thinking abilities, including the ability to develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans aligned with our overall objectives. One should be adept at analyzing market data, identifying opportunities, and crafting innovative strategies to drive growth.
Proficiency in digital marketing strategies and tools is essential. This role requires a deep understanding of various digital channels, including social media, content marketing, email marketing, search engine optimization (SEO), and analytics.
Analytical Skills:
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills to interpret data, measure marketing performance, and make data-driven decisions. Familiarity with marketing analytics tools and metrics is important for evaluating the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and optimizing marketing ROI.
Creativity and Innovation:
One should be a creative thinker with a track record of developing innovative marketing campaigns and initiatives that resonate with target audiences and differentiate the brand from competitors.
Adaptability:
Given the rapidly evolving nature of this industry, marketing and technology, one must be adaptable and open to embracing new trends, technologies, and methodologies to stay ahead of the curve and drive continuous improvement in marketing strategies.
