Job Summary:

The Chief Investment Office at Merrill and Bank of America supports our advisors and clients by acting as the investment engine of the firm. A critical driver of our investment platform and revenue, CIO provides critical Market Viewpoints helping clients understand current market conditions, investment trends and investment guidance, Due Diligence & Manager Research with rigorous reviews of managers and investments; Portfolio Construction & Management services allowing us to deliver a range of turn-key investment solutions that represent some of the best thinking of the firm.

The CIO Marketing team lead works closely with the CIO line of business to define marketing strategy and programs to generate engagement and adoption for advisors and their clients. The CIO marketing team is dedicated to serving clients needs in an ever-changing environment, particularly during times of market volatility and is continuously evolving to take on new and different programs and challenges. The CIO marketing team has a sharp eye on what clients and advisors are looking for with creative and hard-working talent that constantly strives to improve on our programs and results.

Job Responsibilities:

The CIO Marketing team lead will be responsible for leading marketing strategy and execution to raise awareness and adoption internally and externally of CIO, ensure connectivity with our Global Research organization and oversee the effective production and distribution of CIO publications numbering in the hundreds.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Define and execute CIO Marketing strategy across Merrill and Private Bank

  • Ensure the strategy and the messaging is coordinated with Segment groups, CIO leadership, Merrill Leadership, Private Bank Leadership, Product teams, Digital Team, and BofA Global Research

  • Partner closely with the IAP marketing team and LOB on CIO Portfolio adoption strategy

  • Oversee the seamless execution of hundreds of CIO publications including internal and external distribution and monitoring their effectiveness.

  • Timely and effective development, execution and management of marketing and communication strategies and campaigns particularly focused on CIO adoption and growth

  • Take lead on monitoring market volatility and driving Rapid Response process during times of volatility or other high impact world events.

  • Act as team lead overseeing marketing teammates responsible for tactical execution.

  • Manage multi-faceted programs with input from partners and teammates and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Ensure connectivity of CIO strategy messaging into broader marketing strategies including our: IAP and investments strategy, Social Media Strategy, Content strategy

  • Measure effectiveness and provide regular reporting and monitoring accomplishments and business impact.

  • Develop impactful advisor & specialist support including program education and content for Websites, LinkedIn, eComms

  • Manage in a fast-paced, demanding, client-driven environment within tight, market driven deadlines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Investments experience including market insights, Research, due diligence, portfolio construction and alternative investments, economic factors influencing market volatility.

  • Executive presence with ability to interact at strategic level with Senior leaders across marketing and line of business.

  • Experience working with product teams, channels, and LOBs to facilitate execution and is well respected across teams.

  • Flexible, adaptable with demonstrated ability to navigate in ambiguous circumstances and fast paced, client and market driven environment and able to manage multiple projects concurrently.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teams.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills

  • Social media experience including Meta, LinkedIn, websites, electronic communications.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in finance and/or Marketing discipline preferred.
