Title: Interim Chief Information Officer / CIO / Senior IT Executive
Reports to: VP of Client Experience
Department: Client Leadership
FLSA Status: Salary/Exempt

Summary/Objective:

The Interim CIO/Sr. IT Executive, is matched with a client institution where they will play a vital role in ensuring that technology is effectively leveraged to support the institution's vision.

Essential Functions:

Depending on the client's needs, the interim CIO/Sr. IT Executive will be responsible for managing some or all of the following:
  • ERP implementations and migrations (Banner, Colleague, PeopleSoft, PowerCampus, CampusManagement, and/or Jenzabar etc.)
  • Business process optimization
  • Infrastructure and networking
  • IT assessments
  • Technology planning
  • Administrative system design and development
  • Instructional technology
  • IT staff mentoring and development
Major Duties and

Responsibilities:

Interim CIO/Sr. IT Executives, will be engaged as a full-time employee. The majority of their work will be performed at the client site.
Education, Skills and Experience:
  • A strong track record as CIO or CTO with at least 5 years' experience in a college or university environment
  • Talent for managing people and fostering an environment of positive employee engagement and trust
  • Experience with higher education technology solutions
  • Proven success leading an organization through change
  • Requires a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or an equivalent combination of some college and significant work experience.
  • An MBA or master's degree is desirable.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are generally Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some weekend or evening hours may be necessary in emergency situations. This is largely an office environment sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop and cell phone. Most work is completed at a client location. Requires travel to and from the client location via auto and/or air.
