Position Summary

Chief Financial Officer with a CPA that manages all aspects of financial reporting, accounting, banking, commercial insurance, and risk management. This position provides day-to-day financial leadership and management to ensure the financial strength and operating efficiency of the company. This person needs a strong operational focus to support the function areas of Accounting, IT and Payroll.

The CFO will protect company revenues and profits to achieve full finanacial control and sustainable growth by actively investigating and safeguarding the finances.

Essential Duties

  • Timely preparation of all monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

  • Supervision and/or management of all billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Work Comp, payroll, and related accounting functions and department personnel.

  • Support the construction team with verification of job costs, percentages of completion, and revenue recognition.

  • Ensure adherence and conformance of all policies and procedures as related to accounting, finance, revenue recognition, banking, and audit.

  • Development and implementation of programs or procedures to enhance cash flow, generate cost savings, increase profitability, and strengthen internal controls.

  • Participate and engage with Sr. Management on long term strategic planning, modeling/forecasting, risk assessment, business development, company growth strategies, acquisitions, and related industry activities.

  • Develop strong working relationships with suppliers, banking, bonding, insurance, auditors, IT, and other key service providers to the company.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Manages processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation, and reporting.

  • Provides recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.

  • Advice Senior Management of risks in business activities or in long term strategies

  • Develope appropriate metrics andfinancial analysis to measure project results, increase profitability, manage growth, measure and monitor results, minimize expenses, and accelerate cash flow

  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensures compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

  • Additional duties include strategic planning, job costing, legal liaison, banking relations, tax, and compliance.

  • Manages operational departments including accounting and Human Resources

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position does have supervisory responsibility.

Position Requirements

Education and/or Experience Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting or Finance, with CPA required; MBA highly desirable.

  • 10 -15+ years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in construction, real estate development, and/or property management, preferably with a privately help company

  • 5 years of supervisory experience in a leadership financial role

  • Experience working directly with Operations Leaders and Senior Management

  • Solid understanding of real estate or property mangement systems

  • Experience working with an outside accounting firm, banks, bonding, insurance, and other key service providers in the financial area of the company
