The Chief Financial Officer, Content Distribution will play a key leadership role in the organization, acting as a strategic business partner with the Chairman, Content Distribution for NBCUniversal and the senior leadership team. The individual will interface with executive leadership and finance colleagues to identify growth opportunities aligned with the objectives and goals of the business. The CFO is responsible for financial management including: forecasting, financial planning, performance tracking, risk assessment, deal analytics, pricing, strategy and insights in addition to business level leadership over the controller functions.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Business Leadership

  • Coach and lead a team of outstanding finance professionals.

  • Partner with operating leaders to develop, manage and execute the businesses strategic plans, deals and contracts.

  • Provide financial support to develop and analyze new business models and programming options.

  • Act as a business partner utilizing insights, strategy and forecast models to advise the Chairman and executive leadership team on competition, licensing behavior and pricing.

  • Work as liaison with all groups within the NBCUniversal organization and the Finance matrix.

  • Manage all reporting requirements internal to business and share with NBCUniversal and Comcast Corporate finance teams.

  • Work closely with corporate and portfolio leadership to drive improvements in policy, process and culture.

Controllership Leadership

  • Maintain highest standard of excellence and accuracy for both internal and external certifications.

  • Facilitate accounting discussions regarding MVPD deal related activity.

  • Ensure balance sheet stewardship and controllership.

  • Ensure financial policy & procedure compliance.

  • Manage annual Sarbanes Oxley reviews and other corporate reporting as needed.

Financial Management

  • Lead all forecasting cycles (budgets, pacing, estimate updates, long range plans); prepare the financial outlook and team with operators to create and deliver the presentations to Senior Corporate Executives (Chairman / CEO / CFO).

  • Prepare for and lead operating review process.

  • Maintain pricing harmonization across MVPD and OVD landscape.

  • Lead financial close process and deliver detailed analysis to NBCU CFO and various brands to incorporate CDG costs in their roll-up.

  • Provide continuous risk and opportunity assessment and timely communication and advice to management teams.


Minimum of 15 years of financial experience, including advanced leadership and financial stewardship, at a high-growth organization.

Minimum of 10 years of experience as a leader in a financial planning and strategy role.

Relevant senior financial management experience in a dynamic, matrixed organization.

Experience managing financial metrics and forecasting.

Demonstrated Financial Acumen.

Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice.

Desired Characteristics

Prior CFO or P&L Leadership a plus.

Strong performance accountability orientation in terms of following through on commitments and deadlines for him or herself and for the finance organization.

Experience in content distribution and/or affiliate sales strongly preferred.

Entertainment and cable network industry experience preferred.

Strategic thinker who can be a credible thought leader with the ability to move quickly and seize opportunities in a rapidly changing media landscape.

Must demonstrate integrity, excellent judgment and business acumen, and the ability to play a significant executive role in the business.

Demonstrated ability to provide thoughtful and strategic insight to senior leadership that translates into successful business strategies.

Persuasive communicator with a vision; proven ability to self-motivate, work independently as well as collaboratively and motivate and inspire a team; excellent writing and verbal presentation skills.

Exceptional execution focus with the ability to multi-task and lead wide ranging business initiatives.

Exhibit a tenacious commitment to continual improvement; work to ambitiously drive change as needed while also seeking to create buy-in and build consensus amongst internal stakeholders.

Strong project management skills.

Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain a high performing financial organization.

Must have a flexible, creative approach to the business and ability to modify their experience and knowledge base and adapt them to the organization while effectively dealing with strong personalities.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
