An exciting opportunity to lead the Boys & Girls Club located in Lakeland, Mulberry, Haines City, Lake Wales, Winter Haven and the surrounding areas is open and we are looking for our next Chief Executive Officer to make a positive impact on kids' lives. We are looking for a special individual that will lead the overall planning, operations, and resource development for the merged organization while providing leadership, direction and support to the Board of Directors.

Boys & Girls Clubs' mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens. You will be responsible for bringing this mission to life in this community, as you work to ensure that the kids and teens in your care achieve great futures by providing a safe and fun space, and engaging club experience, and managing caring professionals to guide them along the way.

As a proof point, 54% of club alumni said the club saved their life, so the impact you and your team will have on these kids and teen's lives will be life changing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guides and supports the Board of Directors in establishing goals and developing innovative policies, procedures, budgets and programs that fulfill the mission of the Boys & Girls Club.

  • Work with the Board of Directors to drive and execute on a long-term strategic plan, which enhances the club experience for all club members.

  • Foster a culture of philanthropy that engages the community to support the Clubs and their mission.

  • Drive the organization's program services and assures achievement of its mission and goals.

  • Provide leadership to club staff by developing administrative and operational standards by which goals are to be met.

  • Assure management and attainment of resources necessary to ensure the operations of the agency are conducted in accordance with applicable laws.

  • Assure that the organization is in compliance with membership and other requirements or standards of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and leverage locally the multiple resources offered by the BGCA and other child development organizations.

  • Oversee staffing activities of the organization, including recruiting, training, and evaluation of both paid and volunteer staff.

  • Promote Boys & Girls Club services to individuals, other service organizations, funding sources and the local community.

  • Provide professional leadership to the Board of Directors to assure development of an effective and motivated board, including identification, recruitment, training and involvement of members in meeting the goals of the organization.

  • Receive special projects periodically by the Board of Directors.



  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

  • Passionate commitment to and believe in the mission and vision of the Clubs.

  • Strong business acumen with the proven ability to run all functions of a business in a growth setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, plan, and coordinate operations in a multi-unit organization.

  • Leadership skills, including negotiation, problem solving, decision making, delegation.

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written; ability to speak effectively and persuasively to groups and individuals.

  • Demonstrated competency and ability in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a Board of Directors, staff, community groups, and other related agencies.

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise professionals and other staff/volunteers who may be in distant subunits of the organization.

  • Advanced knowledge and expertise in asset management including financial resources and property.

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 Position Purpose: The purpose of the Outside Sales Representative (i.e. Sales Account Executive) is to meet and exceed sales objectives in the assigned territory by promoting and selling outdoor advertising to qualified advertisers. An Outside Sales Representative is expected to use professional sales techniques, build relationships, and develop long term advertising relationships that grow Lamar advertising sales. Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Major Activities * Meet and exceed sales targets, make at least 10 sales calls per day of which 2 calls are new business * Target every business within their assigned territory/account list, visit each established Lamar client and our competitor's client at least once per month, identify potential growth areas and open new accounts, increase Lamar's market share, sell all products - Posters, Bulletins and Transit (where applicable) Become proficient in the use of Lamar computer tools to locate co-op prospects, follow-up on hot leads, prepare proposals and research * Prepare written presentations, reports and proposals, become an active team member of Lamar, become an active member of the advertising community * Develop presentation skills utilizing computer tools and present to clients on a regular basis, maintain accounts receivable, continually develop new product knowledge and acquire better selling skills * Keep abreast of competition, particularly newspaper, radio, TV, cable and yellow pages * Actively participate in sale meetings, regional meetings, seminars and trade shows Self-Organization * Plan each day, week and month before the month starts, plan each call * Maintain a professional sales appearance * Use sales tools, complete daily planner/sales program after each call and at the end of the day * Maintain organized up-to-date records of clients and sales activity * Insure your automobile has a neat and professional appearance. Time Management * Minimize travel time, maximize time in the field with clients * Use the Lamar Sales Support Center and the Multi Market Coordinators to sell multi Lamar markets, cluster your accounts to work them geographically and manage your time effectively. Administrative * Maintain client profiles, be prepared to submit daily planners/call reports, sales plans, forecasts and expense reports on a timely basis * Follow-up on all client production orders and insure campaigns begin and end as the client requested. If any problems exist, AE will communicate immediately with the client and manager to find a solution * Agree to check lights, etc. on a regular basis when called upon * Use Lamar technology to save time * Analyze and monitor personal sales data and reports * Operate within your expense budget KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS - Ability to make oral presentations to provide information or explain policies and procedures * Skill in speaking with persons of various social, cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds * Working knowledge of personal computers, including Microsoft Office Suite * Ability to explain the outdoor advertising business to customers and account executives from installation and product standpoints * Skill in writing grammatically correct routine business correspondence * Ability to perform effectively under fluctuating workloads * Skill in selling or promoting outdoor advertisements * Skill in establishing rapport and gaining the trust of others * Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships * Ability to meet a sales quota * Working knowledge of general sales techniques * Ability to cold call businesses * Ability to be intrinsically motivated to succeed and withstand rejection * Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS - High school diploma or equivalent * Current and valid driver's license * College degree preferred * Previous sales experience required PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT - The primary work environment for this position is a combination of an office environment and work in the field making sales calls and servicing existing accounts * The physical demands for this position include light lifting, seeing (with a focus on reading, color distinction, acuity, depth perception, and peripheral vision), sitting less than 50% of the time, standing, talking, turning, and walking * Nights spent away from home traveling are less than 10% ADDITIONAL INFORMATION First year earning potential for our newly hired Outside Sales Representative is usually around $50,000 - $80,000 / year, dependent on experience and selling ability.
