Job Title: Chief Estimator


Founded in 1975, Mid-State started out as a Machine Shop with 15 employees servicing mostly Phosphate industry. Today, Mid-State Industrial Services employees over 500 people serving the Phosphate, Chemical, Power, Citrus, Sand & Aggregate, and many other industries by offering turnkey solutions including field maintenance, fabrication, dragline repair, machining, pump repair, gearbox repair, and valve repair. MS is equipped with industry experts, 200,000 square foot of shop space, and overhead crane capacity up to 35 tons allowing MS to meet all of our clients' needs.

Essential Duties & Requirements Include:

  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements from construction plans and related documentation.

  • Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.

  • Presents prepared estimate by combining numerical data and descriptive information in a clear, concise proposal.

  • Maintains company's proprietary cost database by entering and backing-up data.

  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending project walk-throughs and interfacing with client.

  • Reviews scope of work with client prior to contract execution

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Well versed in reading and interpreting various construction plans

  • Organized with a high attention to detail

  • Can work with little supervision to complete estimate by specified deadlines

  • Able to complete material

  • Preferred training in any material takeoff software.

  • Preferred experience with Steel Fabrication

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 Perform vehicle inspections and prepare related documentation of overall vehicle condition in support of the processing and sale of client/customer consigned vehicles in lane and online. Key Responsibilities: * Verify vehicle identification. * Enter basic vehicle identification information to database. * Inspect vehicle equipment and options and document results. * Assess and database enter any exterior vehicle damage. * Inspect and enter condition of vehicle interior, tires, frame and mechanical components. * Complete and verify data entry in support of documentation of vehicle condition. * Perform post sale inspections (PSI) and enter results in appropriate database. * Perform and document walk around inspections in support of online vehicle exchange (OVE) process. * Review completed vehicle condition reports with inspectors – confirm and provide advice regarding report results. * Attend meetings to share and receive job related information and complete training requirements * High School Diploma or equivalent required. * ASE certification or background in automotive repair cost estimating preferred; ICAR Certifications a plus. * Valid Driver's License and safe driving record required. * Basic computer software skills required. * Ability to multitask required. * Must be detail oriented. * General knowledge of body and mechanical work preferred. * Helps peers with questions and problems. * Trains and educates representatives and customers; explain why/how things were written or assessed * Troubleshoots issues with Tough Book (hardware and software issues) * Uses computer to complete ECR * Uses and troubleshooting other electronic devices (ex. Paint meter) * Logs time in KRONOS * Choose appropriate tool for job (ex. flashlight, paint meter, tire gauge, ruler, knee pads) * Know how to use equipment effectively and correctly * Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk and hear. * Frequently required to Crouch down to look at side or underneath car, Strength to open up hood or trunk, Crouching, bending while performing audits, Ability to reach inside or underneath vehicle * Trunk Strength, Lifting, Kneeling, Squatting, Standing all day, Bending over, Getting under vehicle * Near vision abilities required include: Find dings and scratches, Find paint work, Hail damage, Frame/Unibody, Other exterior damage, Interior damage * Ability to find previous repair (ex. differences in color, shade, quality of paint job) * Identify exterior or interior color * Ability to deal with different lighting (i.e. exterior and interior lighting; natural and artificial light) * Previous body shop experience, mechanical experience, estimating experience a plus, but not required.
