The Chief Engineer is a key member of the Lahaina Shores Beach Resort Leadership Team whose primary responsibility is to oversee and manage the maintenance and repair of owner units, common areas, and central systems such as water, air conditioning and electrical, ensuring the health, safety and good working order of the building. Additionally, the Chief Engineer ensures guest and owner satisfaction and safety by providing efficient and courteous service to maintenance requests and preventative maintenance plans. The Chief Engineer is also responsible for ensuring individual units and public areas are in good physical repair and of an aesthetically pleasing quality while also focusing on generating maximum profitability using resort standards for efficient use of equipment, tools and ordering of supplies.
The day-to-day duties and responsibilities include managing employees, including employee relations, training, scheduling, payroll processing, and distributing work assignments. Ensuring prompt response to guest requests and proper maintenance of owner units, common areas, pool and spa. The Chief Engineer will also be responsible for analyzing and controlling engineering operations and expenditures for the property, assisting with preparing annual budgets and ordering supplies for the Association of Apartment Owners (AOAO) and the Classic Resorts rental program.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer experience in a major first class hotel. Candidates with an associate's degree and hospitality/AOAO industry experience at a supervisory level and/or technical engineering staff level will be given preference.
