Kilpatrick Townsend a large international law firm, is seeking a Chief of Corporate Citizenship in our Atlanta office. This position will be part of our team of attorneys, paralegals and support staff providing a high level of service to both internal and external clients. The Chief of Corporate Citizenship is responsible for the planning and operational execution of the Firm's overall responsibilities to society, with the primary goals of producing higher standards of living, improving quality of life, and helping to eliminate educational and economic inequality for the communities that surround us, while leveraging these opportunities to form stronger ties with our partners, our employees and our clients as well as providing proper stewardship through central management of the Firm's associated resources and its profitability. The position works closely with the Firm's senior leadership and in coordination with the leaders of the Firm's Pro Bono and Diversity and Inclusion programs. In addition, the position works closely with the Firm's Chief of Business Development and Marketing to leverage community opportunities to further enhance establishment of closer ties with our major clients. The position is directly responsible for leading the Firm's community leadership, philanthropy, and volunteerism initiatives and aligning community involvement with business objectives, development of existing and new client relationships, recruiting and retention, and Firm brand awareness.

Responsibilities and Primary Activities:

  • Develop a strategy and communication plan that enhances accomplishment of the Firm's Corporate Citizenship goals and integrates community leadership, philanthropy, and volunteerism to support the Firm's current business strategy and adapt the strategy to anticipate future needs.

  • Responsible in coordination with the Chief Business Development and Marketing Officer for development and execution of the annual Corporate Citizenship Budget, with responsibility for developing and enforcing associated guidelines to maximize benefits and ensure the proper use of Firm resources, in line with the Firm's Citizenship goals. Develop and enforce guidelines related to Firm charitable, volunteerism, sponsorship, and attorney involvement on community related and nonprofit boards.

  • In coordination with the Chief Human Resources Officer, Increase attorney and staff engagement in community volunteerism efforts; monitor volunteer activity and work with the Firm's established Community Volunteer Council/Committee; leveraging opportunities to strengthen community and client ties.

  • Assists Firm leadership in focusing Firm corporate citizenship priorities and implementing Firm strategy focused on those priorities.

  • Develop strategy, guidelines and enforce the Firm's philanthropic giving including direct contributions/grants, employee giving campaigns, in-kind donations and disaster response in line with Firm Citizenship goals.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders including client counterparts, nonprofit and business leaders, vendors, professional organizations and others.

  • Work with office level leadership to develop plans and monitor execution and follow-up of local Corporate Citizenship related initiatives, while ensuring that they are in line with overall Firm level goals.

  • Identify opportunities to advance the firm's brand nationally and locally at events/conferences and through awards/recognition in coordination with the Firm's Chief Business Development and Marketing Officer.

  • Work with key Firm Client Account Teams (CATs) to identify opportunities to strategically develop closer relationships with clients via community leadership, philanthropy and/or volunteerism opportunities.

  • Shape and orchestrate a strategy to pursue existing and new social responsibility awards and recognitions to further promote the Firm's brand in this area.

  • Effectively measure, analyze and report on the return on investment, impact and effectiveness of the Firm's investment in Corporate Citizenship.

Required Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, in related area.

  • PREFERRED: Master's degree in related field

  • Financial and operations management expertise

  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25%

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with proven ability to communicate effectively to executive audiences.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment, is able to multi-task, and has strong management skills.

  • A highly motivated team player who is comfortable leading in ambiguous situations, developing new relationships, and leading initiatives with diverse and senior-level stakeholders.

  • Ability to establish trusted relationships and navigate organizational complexities; low ego with high level of self-confidence, maturity and integrity; charismatic and dynamic, capable of inspiring those around them.

  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and establish clear priorities.

  • Strong event planning/coordination skills.

  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to build a community and activate others; adaptable to different cultures and business environments.

  • High level of emotional intelligence with strong persuasion and presentation skills.

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of ten years' management experience in related fields.

  • 10+ years of professional experience in financial operations, business management / reporting and strategic analysis.

  • Experience with analytical and strategic thinking capabilities, and ability to use sound judgment in nuanced situations.

  • Experience synthesizing key data and insights to identify themes, trends and actionable intelligence to inform strategies and executive decision-making.

  • Experience leading enterprise-wide initiatives to benchmark performance and identify key opportunities for improvement

Experience working in corporate or professional service functions.

  • Significant experience working with non-profits, foundations and similar organizations.

  • Experience developing and managing both internal and external communications.

Preferred Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years or significant management level experience at a corporate or professional service level in a related field.

  • Experience in corporate social responsibility or philanthropy.

An SFA entrepreneur is currently under letter of intent to acquire a B2B corporate training business in the southeast United States. The company has approximately 80 employees and $9 million of sales. The acquisition is expected to close in September 2019. Following the closing of the acquisition, the entrepreneur will move to the location of the business and operate the company as the CEO, and he is looking for a Chief of Staff to join him at the company. Additional information about the company will be disclosed at a later date.</p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>The Chief of Staff will report directly to the CEO. The primary responsibility will be managing special projects on behalf of the CEO in order to help maximize the CEO’s effectiveness by leveraging his time.
