The Chief System Architect will serve as the primary technical expert for an Agile development environment and training platform based in Orlando, Florida. The Chief System Architect is responsible for all technical aspects of the system architecture, leading technology tradeoffs, understanding customer needs and constraints and integrating diverse stakeholder inputs to guide the design efforts of the system. The program will manage and support the development of technology insertions, integrating software and hardware enhancements while maintaining a level of capability that will enable customers to continue to conduct training, exercises, mission rehearsals and certification from distributed locations. The Chief System Architect will support the establishment of Agile processes and infrastructure enhancements needed to support updates to the customer utilizing Dev/Ops techniques.
The Chief System Architect leads the system architecture team, creating, reviewing and approving architectural models and documentation. The Chief System Architect is responsible for all aspects of the system architecture throughout the program life cycle to include technology tradeoffs, architecture design and development, and allocation of system functions to architectural elements. The Chief System Architect will lead and effect enhancements and changes to the training environment architecture in meetings with government customer architects.
The position may require the ability to travel to various government facilities up to 20% of the time.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED:
Candidate must be a United States Citizen, able to obtain/maintain a US Government security clearance (up to TS/SCI) and also eligible to obtain any necessary Export Authorization.
An active/current clearance up to TS/SCI, eligible for crossover, is preferred.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 12 years in systems, software or computer engineering
Experience with process improvement initiatives
Experience leading multiple development teams to design and build software systems following the Agile methodology
Experience leading diverse engineering teams including the technical team, Government, and other contractors
Experience developing and delivering program presentations
Experience leading development teams implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
Experience in both Windows and Linux/Unix environments
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience with modern software architectures and modern software development
Experience with infrastructure automation
Experience with virtualization and containerization
Experience with cloud infrastructure, application modernization, and COTS and open source solutions.
Experience with Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training and multi-site training architectures
Experience using DOORS, Rhapsody, MagicDraw or other requirements management and system architecture tools
Raytheon Certified Architect Program (RCAP) certified.
