Responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining course syllabus, teaching assigned classes, attending all class sessions, grading and providing appropriate feedback to students, scheduling office hours, completing all assessments requirements, and attending at least one orientation meeting. You will also be required to provide your students and the Department administration with a comprehensive course syllabus before the start of the semester.

Syllabus should include all course requirements, grading policy, assignments, expected exams and required reading. You will provide us with your textbook order in-time for materials to arrive well in advance of the first week of classes. Finally, you will be required to adhere to the policies as stated in the faculty handbook

VIEW JOBS 4/23/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-07-22T00:00 Job Description The IDEAS program at Stevens Institute of Technology is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for possible temporary part-time teaching assignments. Adjunct positions are on a semester-by-semester contract basis. Successful acceptance into the adjunct pool does not guarantee an offer of a contract. Candidates will be evaluated on suitability of their academic preparation, past teaching experience, and potential for providing high quality instruction to undergraduate students. Adjunct faculty will be responsible for teaching one or more undergraduate courses in a manner consistent with the specific course content description. Adjunct faculty are expected to hold office hours appropriate for the course(s) being taught. Assignments may include day or evening courses and will be in person at our Hoboken Campus. As staffing needs arise, our Director will review the pool and contact those applicants they are interested in interviewing. There are also times that adjunct faculty are needed to fill a last minute voids as well. As this is for a pool of applicants, it may take time before you hear anything. The IDEAS program integrates learning and technical design with entrepreneurial thinking to create an environment that fosters innovation. It helps students look beyond technical problems to identify and address problems with entrepreneurial and humanitarian value and substantial societal impact. The program coordinates the design spine courses including the capstone senior design and the academic entrepreneurial experiences. Courses: E 121 Engineering Design I: Introduction to Systems Thinking This course introduces students to the process of design and seeks to engage their enthusiasm for engineering from the very beginning of the program. The engineering method is used in the design and manufacture of a product. Product dissection is exploited to evaluate how others have solved design problems. Development is started of competencies in professional practice topics, primarily: effective group participation, project management, cost estimation, communication skills and ethics. Engineering Design I is linked to and taught concurrently with the Engineering Graphics course. E 231 Engineering Design III: Structural Performance and Failure This course continues the experiential sequence in design. Design projects are linked with Mechanics of Solids topics taught concurrently. Core design themes are further developed.
