Supervision Received: Reports to the Department Chair of Chemical and Physical Sciences
The department of Chemical and Physical Sciences seeks an in-person instructor for the Fall 2024 semester to serve as a sabbatical replacement to teach a General, Organic and Biochemistry (GOB) course, a GenEd-designated course typically taken by first year students in the nursing program. The course consists of one 3-credit lecture and two lab sections. The well-qualified candidate will have a degree in chemistry or closely related field and teaching experience at the college or university level. Applicants interested in teaching the lab sections only, which like the lecture are compensated as 3 contact hours, are encouraged to apply as well. There is a possibility of a similar opportunity in the Spring 2025 semester.
General Statement of Duties: Potentially teach one General/Organic/Biochemistry lecture and two lab sections for the Fall 2024 semester.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include but not limited to:
Essential:
Teach one lecture section of General/Organic/Biochemistry a one-semester chemistry course that meets three day a week (scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, Friday morning).
Teach two laboratory sections of General/Organic/Biochemistry that meets for three hours one, day a week (scheduled for Monday and Tuesday afternoon).
Support student learning outside of lecture.
Coordinate with other laboratory and lecture instructors.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
Degree in chemistry or related field
Prior teaching at the college level, prior teaching of a chemistry lecture is preferred.

Salary:
