POSITION SUMMARY:

UWorld is looking for an on-site Chemistry Content Developer to contribute to our web-based MCAT Question Bank. Within a collaborative and dynamic environment, the Chemistry Content Developer will work closely with a team of other content developers, editors, and illustrators to create an exceptional MCAT preparation product. QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education

  • Master's degree required; PhD or MD/DO preferred

Minimum Experience

  • 5 years of post-graduate teaching and/or research experience in the field of chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, or related field

  • Subject matter expertise in general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Acute attention to detail

  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills

  • Outstanding problem-solving skills with proven capacity to execute conceptual ideas into a finished product

  • Ability to work independently while operating within a dynamic team environment

  • Aptitude for adapting quickly and collaborating effectively

  • Ability to provide, receive, and respond to feedback positively

  • Solid organizational, prioritization, and self-motivation skills

  • Proficient in MS Office/working knowledge of IT

  • Proven ability to write high-quality MCAT passages, questions, and rationales

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reports to the MCAT Product Manager and develops content for the online MCAT Question Bank.

Content production and maintenance

  • Plays a key role in project development, planning, and execution

  • Writes MCAT-style passages and questions with comprehensive rationales

  • Generates content that reflects existing curriculum standards, up-to-date research, and standardized examination practices for generation of test items

  • Revises and provides constructive feedback on content written by other authors

  • Participates in interdisciplinary projects and works closely with editing and illustration teams to generate educational content that meets UWorld standards

  • Collaborates with management and team members to ensure production goals are met within given deadlines

  • Responds quickly and effectively to feedback and makes necessary revisions to live or in-progress question bank content

Technical content management

  • Maintains and updates organizational structure of content production and time-based performance

  • Communicates effectively with quality assurance, customer care, and software teams to troubleshoot and resolve content-related technical issues

  • Continuously evaluates the performance metrics of test items in the question bank and adjusts content to optimize item quality

  • Recognizes and champions the integrity and security of question bank content and proprietary assets

Appointment rank will be commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience. Applicants must have an M.D. degree, or equivalent, from an approved LCME medical school, and have satisfactorily completed an Internal Medicine residency program, and an Infectious Diseases fellowship program, from an ACGME accredited program. Candidates must be eligible for Texas medical licensure and be board-certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases. The primary roles and responsibilities will be to serve as the Associate Director of Infection Prevention at University Hospitals. Responsibilities of the Associate Hospital Epidemiologist include but are not limited to assisting the Hospital epidemiologist; providing subject matter expertise in infection prevention and healthcare epidemiology; reviewing health-care associated infections with subsequent implementation of infection control and process improvement efforts to reduce HAIs; development and implementation of infection control principles and policies in general and as they relate to reduction of multi-drug resistant organisms (MDROs), outbreak response and special pathogens; interpretation of epidemiologic data, and improvement of data infrastructures and data reporting in compliance with NHSN, CMS and other internal metrics.
