Job Summary

Estrella Mountain Community College is hiring Chemistry adjunct faculty to teach day and evening in-person chemistry classes at our Avondale campus.

Essential Functions

Instructs a diverse population of students in both lecture and lab settings. Uses active learning, student-centered teaching strategies to engage students and promote student success.

Minimum Qualifications

A Master's Degree or higher in one of the following fields: Chemistry, Biochemistry, Geochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry Education specifically , Polymer Science, Chemical Physics, Forensic Chemistry

OR

A Master's Degree in any field with 18 graduate-level credits in these prefixes/subjects: CHM, CHEM, BCH, BIOC, CHE

OR

A Master's Degree in any field with 18 graduate-level credits in courses with these keywords: Chemistry, Chemical Research, Chemistry Seminar, Thesis Writing, Chemistry Education, Thermodynamics, Physical Chemistry, Quantum Mechanics, Statistical Mechanics, Molecular Biology, Molecular Physics, Nuclear

Special Working Conditions

  • Exposure to laboratory chemicals.

  • May be required to lift up to 25 lbs. with or without a reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to teach in-person, at dates and times dependent on needs of the Division/College.

All minimum requirements must be met at the time of the application. If your master's degree is not in the teaching field, then please list the 18 graduate semester hours completed in the teaching field in your application materials.
