Are you ready to join our team? Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking an Analytical Chemist for its Boise technology development and manufacturing site. The Lab uses groundbreaking instrumentation and techniques to deliver engineering customers chemistry and materials analysis solutions through expertise in the area of trace quantitative analysis. The candidate will be developed to provide analytical support for Micron manufacturing, facilities groups, and manufacturing support.
A strong expertise or experience in analytical chemistry is required. A basic understanding of statistical techniques, data analysis, and variability as well as semiconductor technology is preferred but not required. Knowledge of chemical reaction mechanisms, chemical stability, and chemical material compatibility, as well as broad technical experience with major techniques used in chemical analysis is highly desirable. Night shift work and working in a cleanroom environment will be required.
Typical responsibilities of this position include:
Current training on all applicable SOP, safety, security, and annual quality related training.
Strict adherence to all safety/emergency procedures.
Independently performs routine and complex testing utilizing established standard operating procedures.
Data analysis and results reporting and use of job specific software applications
Candidate must be comfortable performing in a high efficiency environment with minimal supervision and must possess the aptitude and desire to learn and adapt to changes in a dynamic technical environment.
Performs other duties related to the position when required by laboratory management.
Experience in any of the following subject areas is desirable, however not mandatory for the right candidate:
ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS
Ion Chromatography, HPLC and/or LCMS
Molecular spectroscopy: FTIR, UV/Vis/NIR, RAMAN
GC and GCMS; Excellent skills in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Familiarity with LIMS systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and experience in a team environment.
Excellent customer service skills
The ability to learn new data reduction and acquisition software packages
Willingness to work a full-time night shift
BS in Chemistry or other relevant science with applicable experience is required. Advanced degree preferred.
