This Chemist position will be the dedicated LIMS administrator serving two laboratory locations. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills who is able to effectively interact with a wide range of personalities. They must have the ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines in a timely fashion, and work remotely and independently with little to no supervision. They must be a motivated, self-starter with strong problem solving skills and possess the listed abilities, experience, and knowledge listed under the "Principal Accountabilities" and the (Education) and Experience) "Requirements".
In addition to the deductive reasoning and great attention to detail needed to maintain the LIMS system, the candidate must have the foresight: to predict the wide-ranging and long-term impacts of changes made to the LIMS database; and to understand the business implications of interruptions to the LIMS software. They would preferably have experience with an analytical laboratory, but should at least be very familiar with the nomenclature and processes of an analytical laboratory, the necessary quality control, and have prior experience using or supporting a LIMS system.
As the LIMS administrator, the Chemist will have the following job responsibilities:
Gather User Requirements
Configure Thermo SampleManager LIMS utilizing VGL or C# languages
Write Infomaker reports
Integrate information systems and lab instruments using Thermo SampleManager and Thermo Integration Manager
Train users as needed
Provide problem solving support to project team
Identifies and initiates solutions to routine problems which usually require additional definition or clarification before analysis can begin.
Makes decisions, subject to review within established policies and procedures, concerning the validity of analytical test data.
Initiates priority changes when analytical objectives are not met.
Preferred job experience
Experience within a regulated environment a plus.
Experience in laboratory informatics or laboratory automation work in a support/IT administrator role a plus.
Experience as a LIMS Administrator with SampleManager a plus.
Programming skills, including C#/.Net, VGL, SQL, Infomaker, Crystal Reports a plus.
Possess Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possess Strong problem solving skills
