Job Title: Contract Mass Spectrometry Chemist
We are looking for LCMS data processing experience with untargeted unknown compounds
The chemist supports the activities related to chemical and material characterization of materials and/or devices for the biomaterials group, primarily with the operation, interpretation and reporting of liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry (LC-MS) data. These chemical characterization activities support biocompatibility studies for devices and materials for regulatory submissions and toxicological assessments. With supervision and direction from the study directors and scientists, this position will assist study directors in the management and execution of numerous diverse analytical, biomaterials and toxicological projects across all of Medtronic's businesses, including the interpretation, analysis, documentation, and reporting of results. The position has responsibility for project-based MS data processing, accurate compound identification, quantification of unknown(s) compounds, sample preparation, and operation of MS instrumentation. The role functions as part of an analytical chemistry team that works under GLP requirements in the medical device field.

Perform MS data processing and chemical characterization in accordance with ISO 10993 part 18
Perform sample preparation, testing, data analysis, and reporting
Create reports that clearly organize the results and demonstrate that test plan requirements were satisfied
Document testing and data analysis results in a lab notebook and laboratory information management system
Operate and maintain tandem quadrupole and time-of-flight LC/MS instrumentation
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Chemistry, Biology, Material Science, or related technical discipline
Minimum of 2 years work experience performing MS analytical testing and MSMS data interpretation
Extensive knowledge and experience performing LC/MS separations and identification of untargeted unknown compounds in the areas of extractables/leachables, materials, and polymer characterization (preferably analytical or organic chemistry; metabolic experience may be applicable)
Experience documenting testing in laboratory notebooks to cGMP standards
Experience and understanding of cGMP, ISO17025, ISO10993, FDA and ICH requirements
