Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited college oruniversity with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering,Biochemistry or Environmental Chemistry is required. (Must provide original college/university transcript at time of interview)*

  • Two (2) years of full-time work experience as aChemist is required.

  • Valid driver's license and proof of automobileinsurance is required. (Must provide proof at time of interview).

  • Degrees awarded outside of the United States with the exception of those awarded in one of the United States' territories and Canada must be credentialed by an approved U.S. credential evaluation service belonging to the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or the Association of International Credential Evaluators (AICE). Original credentialing documents must be presented at time of interview.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS

Knowledge of County, State, and Federal laws relative to environmentalprotection regulations. Skill in conducting qualitative and quantitative analytical chemicalanalysis; skill in interpreting statistical test data in conjunction withmaking correlation comparisons of test sample materials. Skill in calibrating and using various test instruments relative tochemical analyses; skill in using computer equipment for data entry functionsor access of environmental technical databases; skill in using hand tools formechanical tasks; skill in using scientific calculator for computingstatistical data; skill in calibrating and using various test instrumentsrelative to chemical analyses, i.e. Ion Chromatography and Atomic Absorption. Skill developing and the ability to conduct statistical QualityAssurance/Quality Control procedures. Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with the public aswell as with internal agencies. Ability to prepare detailed analytical reports and quality assurancereports pertinent to equipment performance, material sampling, and materialanalysis. Ability to train new Chemists pertinent to the policies and procedureof the department as well as USEPA quality assurance requirements. This position may require moderate to extensive travel to workassignments throughout Cook County.

Physical Requirements

Light Work

Light Work involvesexerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally or up to 10 pounds of forcefrequently, or a negligible amount of force constantly to lift, carry, push,pull, or otherwise move objects. Even though the weight lifted may be only anegligible amount, a job/occupation is rated Light Work when it requires: (1)walking or standing to a significant degree; (2) sitting most of the time whilepushing or pulling arm or leg controls; or (3) working at a production ratepace while constantly pushing or pulling materials even though the weight ofthe materials is negligible.

Job Summary This is a remote, home-based position that can reside anywhere in the Continental USA within a one hour commuting distance to a major international airport. The Wellness and Sustainability Project Manager is responsible for business analysis, process improvement, and development and project management services of nutrition and sustainability programs that support the Chartwells K12 strategic plan. Key Responsibilities: Management * Coordinates the development, management, and evaluation of compliance, nutrition, wellness, and sustainability initiatives. * Develops training programs that assist field with implementation of compliance, nutrition, wellness, and sustainability programs and coordinates with Compass Learning Management Systems. * Coordinates with internal Chartwells and Compass teams to develop Chartwells compliance, wellness, and sustainability activities and protocols; coordinates measurement and evaluation of results. * Coordinates with culinary team on development, implementation and measurement of menu initiatives with Webtrition and Nutrislice integration. * Coordinates with culinary and marketing on development, implementation and measurement of Discovery Kitchen initiatives and other mutual topics. * Supports Webtrition development, training, audit protocols and field support structure. Compliance * Assists with interpretation of current regulations and policies including but not limited to USDA, FDA, state legislation, school district policy, and local wellness policy. * Recommends activities and training to maintain compliance with all applicable policies and regulations. * Coordinates Chartwells Food Allergy and Medical Condition Program according to regulation and external partnership requirements. * Coordinates and reports Chartwells compliance with Compass sustainability targets and develops programs to support improvement toward goals. Training and Education * Coordinates the development, implementation and measurement of Chartwells nutrition, sustainability, and compliance training. * Develops wellness and sustainability educational materials for all stakeholders including students, associates, parents, clients, and administrators. * Utilizes eLearning software to create trainings, and collaborates with Compass Learning and Development to launch and monitor trainings on Compass' Learning Management System. * Coordinates with marketing and Chartwells' online menu platform, Nutrislice, to develop and implement wellness and sustainability education programs. Qualifications: * Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required. * Master's degree in Nutrition or related field strongly preferred. * Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing Board in states where applicable required. * Minimum of five (5) years of experience (post Dietetic internship) working as a Registered Dietitian required. * Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the food service industry required. * Experience working with electronic menu management systems required. * Experience working in a highly regulated food service environment required. * Project Management experience managing long-term projects in a matrixed environment involving multiple stakeholders across an organization required. * Successful new program development experience required. * Ability to travel up to 10% required. * Experience working in a School Foodservice environment, Grades K-12 strongly preferred.
