Chemist I, as an entry level chemist, will perform standard chemical and physical analysis of inner and outer nutritional products in the quality control lab using wet chemistry techniques and instrumental analyses.


  • Performs laboratory testing (qualitative and quantitative chemical and physical analysis of raw materials, finished products and/or stability samples).

  • Prepares standards and reagents; calibrates and operates sophisticated laboratory instrumentation such as HPLC, FTIR, UV- Visible spectrophotometer.

  • Reviews product certificates of analysis for accuracy and conformance and maintain C of A files.

  • Performs routine calibration and performance verification of lab equipment and instrumentation.

  • Provides input on Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Test Methods and other relevant laboratory documents.

  • Participate in investigations, address Out of Specifications (OOS), resolve deviations and implement CAPA with general supervision.

  • Comply with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP). Documents data in lab notebook and follow basic cGMP guidelines.

  • Interprets test results and compares with determined standards and limits. Interprets and compares data and historical records and trend verification under general supervision.

  • Maintains a safe, clean and efficient laboratory.

  • Chemist I are responsible to produce high quality laboratory data.

  • Chemist I are responsible for and empowered to stop an analysis that may produce poor quality results as required by ISO 17025.

  • Other duties as assigned




  • Ability to execute testing according to established methods.

  • Demonstrates basic proficiency in lab instrumentation and multiple test methods.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision

  • 0 3 years previous experience in an analytical laboratory of qualitative or quantitative analyses

  • Experience in various wet chemical analysis and/or instrumental analysis utilizing FTIR, HPLC, GC and UV-Visible spectrophotometry


  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field or equivalent experience.


  • Knowledge of LC/MS and GC/MS

  • Previous cGMP regulation and compliance knowledge

  • Nutraceutical or pharmaceutical laboratory work experience

  • Knowledge in ISO17025 Lab Management

  • Master of Science in Chemistry or Biochemistry or related filed

VIEW JOBS 3/19/2019 12:00:00 AM 2019-06-17T00:00 POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT: The General Associate will be responsible for a variety of duties relating to the packing of manufactured products which include following packaging records and standard operating procedures. In addition this position will be responsible for cleaning equipment and work areas, packaging and palletizing, labeling, in process inspection and other related packaging activities. DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: * Clean and maintain processing rooms, production areas and equipment. * Ensure all product and components required for daily production are in the appropriate staging area. in a timely manner to ensure availability before production begins. * Ensure any remaining product/components are returned back to inventory once a project is completed. * Perform quality checks on labels and codes. If defects are found notify lead/supervisor immediately. Change labels as needed. * Inspect finished product continually throughout process to identify defects. * Package finished product and full goods in boxes in a timely manner. * Perform various packaging duties. * Follow established department GMP's, SOP's and batch record instructions. * Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety rules and regulations. * Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Lead. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Skills: * Ability to manually handle packaging product in a quickly and timely manner. * Ability to apply basic math skills required to control inventory. * Good communication skills both written and verbal. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. * Comply with all company policies and procedures. * Comply with all safety rules and regulations. * Ability to understand, speak, read and write in the English language. * Basic computer skills. Experience: * Up to 1 year experience in a fast paced packaging environment. * Experience working/participating in a team based environment. Education: * High school diploma or GED PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Food and Drug Administration (FDA) other regulatory. * Experience using high Speed Mixer, Dryers, Fitz mill, Sweco, scales and tablet presses. * Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPS).
