The Role:

Our site in San Luis Obispo is seeking a Chemist to join our team. The Chemist will support analytical services and quality assurance through sample preparation, chemical testing execution and the generation of reports for internal and external customers. This position will work closely with other team members to ensure that the lab runs efficiently and safely while also contributing to long term lab goals through experimentation and the use of lab instrumentation to improve on lab procedures. This position will work with quality assurance to document testing procedures and to improve clarity of current standard operating procedures to establish consistency in quality assurance testing.

What You'll Do:

• Perform analytical testing based on established methods.

• Calibrate and maintain scientific instrumentation (TDGCMS, IC, APIMS, etc.) and laboratory equipment.

• Communicate results through written reports and oral presentations.

• Successfully apply scientific principles, theories and concepts to specific job assignments/projects.

• Work with quality team moving sampling lines at various heights to different locations throughout the buildings for internal product testing, requiring the use of a ladder.

• Participate in site Continuous Improvement activities across safety, quality, and efficiency.

• Maintain a safe laboratory environment through compliance with Entegris policies.

• Participate on Safety Teams as required, perform 6S lab audits in support.

• Author and/or review test reports, work instructions, and other technical documents as required.

• Collaborate with and support other internal functional groups as needed.

• Any other duties as assigned.

What We Seek:

• A bachelor or master degree in chemistry or chemical engineering or equivalent.

• 2+ years of lab experience using gas-phase analytical equipment w/ equipment knowledge and troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to clearly communicate technical information and ideas to internal and external audiences.

• Strong written and verbal communication.

• Strong personnel team building skills.

• Well organized.

• Primarily in the laboratory, occasionally in manufacturing process areas that may include a clean room environment.
