Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to development of new analytical techniques to support test water analysis, investigation of metal specimen degradation, metal surfaces and water chemistry, development and maintenance of chemistry and waste management procedures, training of procedures, and the development, operations and maintenance of an analytical chemistry laboratory. The individual will be responsible for properly maintaining administrative and operational aspects of the chemistry laboratory, including the identification, characterization, and handling of emissions, discharges, and wastes to ensure environmental regulatory compliance.
