Job Description:

Do you have prior laboratory experience and a science background? Are you a detail-oriented, self-directed problem solver? If this sounds like you, come join our Laboratory Services team! We are hiring for a Chemist 2 (Analytical Chemist Cannabis Reference Laboratory (CRL) position in our new Wilsonville lab.

What you'll be doing

  • Analyze cannabis and cannabis products for potency, heavy metals, residual solvents, pesticides and more.

  • Prep and extract samples for analyses

  • Chromatography extracts to identify and quantitate target analyses using gas and liquid chromatography with various detectors.

  • Digest and analyze samples for heavy metals using ICP-MS.

  • Assemble data packets for peer review.

  • Perform routine maintenance of instrumentation for efficient operations.

Collaborate with CRL Chem 3 on technical problems, difficult matrices, new analyze, interference, etc.

  • Maintain all relevant records and documentation.

  • Author and review technical documents such as SOPs and work instructions.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Two years of experience independently performing analytical chemistry procedures which include designing, developing, and implementing analytical methods and procedures and a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry.

OR

Three additional years of pertinent experience may substitute for the bachelor's degree.

  • Demonstrated experience in analytical laboratory procedures, techniques, and scientific methods of measurement.

  • Working knowledge of regulatory and quality control guidelines related to testing and research, including cGMP, ISO/IEC 17025 and TNI.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers..

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrate ethical and sound judgment.

  • Attention to detail, self-motivated, focused on continuous improvement.

  • Ability to multi-task and work with flexibility in a fast-paced, ever-changing, and sometimes challenging environment.

  • Strong time-management skills and ability to perform strategic prioritization.

  • Strong organizational skills.
