Information & Data Sciences (IDS) is a team of Information Scientists, Data Scientists, and Research Computing experts who focus on maximizing the power that information can provide to the Innovation, Discovery, and Product Development processes.
Supporting R&D Organization - We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and technical expert who will help drive and enable innovational foundational capabilities to maximize the value of information through information and knowledge management.

Enhance and support DuPont's Chemical Information Management Systems (CIMS)
Target business needs and developing new solutions in a team environment
Collaborate with research stakeholders to define metadata and apply requirements related to the registration of compounds, samples, and associated properties
Coordinate the planning, design, development, and deployment of CIMS applications
Develop user interfaces and APIs using relevant web technologies, including but not limited to the DeltaSoft ChemCart
Develop and utilize KNIME workflows to automate chemical and material properties data load and extraction to support multiple projects, internal audit and compliance
Support informatics efforts by partnering with materials scientists, chemists, toxicologists and data scientists to develop databases & interfaces useful for datamining relevant information supporting a "Model First" strategy
Develop and distribute system and user reports
Write technical documentation
Understand and anticipate technology needs and opportunities for R&D and Scientific information management, effectively translating those needs into solutions and business process improvements
Additional Technical Skills
Experience programming (both high level languages and scripting)
Experience developing and supporting web front end technologies
Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL
Experience with chemistry cartridges for relational databases
Experience with workflow tools
Reports to Information & Data Sciences, Information Science Manager
Work directly with Information & Data Sciences Advanced Analytic Team and internal business contacts
Partner with Emerging Technology Teams and developers
Coordinate projects with external vendors needed to carry out the Technical Information team objectives
Hands on experience with Chemical database design and query
Familiarity with multiple information management solutions (LIMS, ELN, EDL, etc.)
Capable of effectively communicating complex technical ideas and the business value associated with information management best practices
Capable of performing requirements gathering for transformation into technical documentation
Comfortable identifying and communicating (chemist/toxicologist) user needs to IT
Effectively collaborate with colleagues from related functions and 3rd party vendors
Minimum Job Qualifications
BS in Computer Science / Chemistry (or equivalent experience)
3 years working with chemical databases
3 years of web API development or related programming experience
1 years working with workflow/pipeline tools
Strong communications (English)
Preferred Job Qualifications
Experience with database chemistry cartridges: ChemCart and/or JChem
Experience managing a chemistry database
Programming languages: Python, C#, Java, SQL, R, PL/SQL or equivalent
Experience creating, maintaining and populating Oracle and/or MySQL databases
Experience with KNIME (preferred) and or Pipeline Pilot
Experience with web front end technologies: HTML5, XML, CSS, Bootstrap, AJAX, etc.
Experience using database reporting tools: SQL server, Tableau, etc.
Working knowledge of relational databases and SQL: Oracle, MySQL
