This team serves the chemical and pharmaceutical industries with a diverse range of services, from chemical testing and consultancy to inspection, contract laboratory services, regulatory guidance and supply chain assurance.
The Chemical Technician III will contribute to projects in:
Other chemical and physical testing as needed
Responsible for performing experimental methods including complex sample preparation and instrumental or chemical analysis independently with general guidance from a chemist.
Plans, performs and completes projects including method feasibility under general supervision of a chemist. May also be study lead on smaller projects.
Set up, adjust, operate, and calibrate laboratory equipment as well as perform general and routine maintenance as needed.
Generate standard client reports and supporting documentation (narrative description of objectives, testing and results including the supporting analytical data)
Clearly communicate technical information and project status to colleagues and clients through email, phone call, or internal tracking documents
Adhere to all quality and safety policies while completing projects
Contribute to quality and safety programs by writing, reviewing, and editing SOPs, policies, etc. as needed.
Use computer systems and software to acquire and document results. Experience with Metrohm, Perkin-Elmer, and Thermo-Fisher ICP acquisition programs is a plus.
Frequent use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook).
Ensures compliance of company/client SOP, protocols, safety policies, methods, or other procedures with government rules and regulations
Knowledge of analytical chemistry, demonstrated through having achieved one of the following:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Physics, Physical Sciences, Chemical Technology or Chemical Engineering and 2 years of laboratory experience
Associate degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Physics, Physical Sciences, or Chemical Technology and 4 years of laboratory experience
High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of Chemistry Lab experience
Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of chemical analysis and using wet chemical or instrumental techniques through a combination of industry and academic performance.
Experience with ICP, titrations, ion chromatography, and ion selective electrodes is a plus
Demonstrated experience performing sample preparation via wet chemical or similar methods
Demonstrated experience operating and maintaining analytical instrumentation
Excellent organization/multi-tasking and communication skills
Excellent ability to follow instruction and work within a team environment
Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills, including data evaluation/analysis
Strong computer skills (Windows, MS Office, data acquisition software)
Ability to generate client reports and supporting documentation
