Responsibilities
Job Summary
The role of Chemical Production Engineer is dynamic and essential to Operations, utilizing technical expertise to enhance plant operations and address any issues that arise. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring safety, reliability, and overall plant performance, actively seeking improvements in these areas based on business priorities.
Responsibilities and Duties
Leading the Unit:
Provides indirect supervisory support for shift operators and motivates operations personnel to achieve unit objectives.
Steps up for the Production Manager (Daily Execution Leader).
Change Agent
Assists with development of unit objectives and monitors/improves unit performance in the areas of on-stream time, equipment availability, and others, as necessary.
Identifies, develops, and implements programs to improve unit safety, profitability, reliability, quality.
Business Interface
Conduct Technical Training
Systems Owner
Ensures all technical and procedural systems operate properly.
Directs the Management of Change program for the area.
Qualifications
BS in Chemical Engineering
3+ years experience in chemical production facilities
Knowledge of process design, instrumentation, and process control applications.
Experience in chemical manufacturing processes.
Ability to multi-task and handle multiple simultaneous assignments.
Ability to work as a self-directed individual.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred
Ability to lead in a team-based environment.
Strong computer skills.
