Job Summary

Responsible for the safe operation of all equipment, control systems, associated auxiliaries and environmental compliance in an assigned manufacturing operation; which may include chemical operations, mixing, blending, and plastic compounding. Must have the ability and willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, holidays, and to work a reasonable level of scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

How You Can Be the Impact

• Representative job assignments may include:

• Latex building certification, including chemical preparation, operation of reactors, operation and cleaning of the homogenization system, operation and cleaning of butadiene charge and recovery areas, and operation of waste separation system.

• Chemical receiving and movement of materials, and material weigh-up throughout all Latex operating areas.

• Lock Out Tag Out and preparation of vessels for cleaning.

• Periodic coverage required for tank farm rounds and activities.

• Technical proficiency in the manipulation of controls (operating a discrete computer controlled system while observing chemical reactions/processes); and observing, correcting and recording instrument readings relating to temperature, pressure volume and/or weight.

• Detailed documentation, prioritization and organization are key fundamentals in performing everyday tasks.

• Lifting materials, connecting line/tank hook-ups; conducting area housekeeping, collecting samples and cleaning equipment are also regularly occurring duties.

• Individuals work both in teams and alone.

• Production Operators must be able to lead production meetings in a team environment, on a daily basis.

• Assisting other production areas with other tasks, as required.

What Matters to SABIC

• Ability to demonstrate high school equivalent skills in key functional disciplines. Demonstration of applying math skills, reading for information, operation of computers, excellent communication skills, and some mechanical aptitude is required.

• Two years of manufacturing experience is a minimum.

• Candidates should have a proven history of solid work performance, attendance, and that of being an effective team player.

• Candidates must be in good physical condition and able to perform the essential physical requirements as outlined below

Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day. Must successfully pass a pre-employment physical.
