Primary Responsibilities

Produces, tests, and fills resin for both in-house and outside customers in accordance with ISO 9000/14001, Reactor Safety and PSM requirements while following corporate, site safety and operating procedures to use control room instrumentation and pressurized vessels to produce a quality product. This role requires the Chemical Operator to load vessels, monitor control room programs and adjust as necessary to operate equipment and facilities within prescribed guidelines while ensuring quality conformance to specifications with standard operating procedures.

  • Start up and shut down process equipment using standard operating procedures

  • Set up and operate equipment such as reactors, pumps and storage tanks

  • Maintain safety standards and have a thorough understanding of site procedures

  • Safely handle extremely hazardous materials (high S codes), including propylene imine (MS-7) and sensitizers

  • Manage hazardous waste according to site policy and area specific procedures

  • Use lab equipment to test quality of resin

  • Load/unload trailers with resin and related raw materials

  • Manage bulk storage and raw material storage areas

  • Monitor operations by reading and correctly interpreting gauges and instruments

  • Recording data

Compensation, Benefits, and Working Hours:

  • Entry Rate of $26.91 with a 3-4 year progression scale plus $1,500 Sign-On Bonus:$750 upon hiring; $750 after 6 months
  • Shift Differentials paid for 12 hour rotating schedules

Minimum Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or GED

  • Must qualify on background check, physical and drug screen.

  • Must qualify on pre-employment test.

  • Must be 18 years of age.

  • Must be able to meet physical requirements for job, including lifting 55 lbs. repetitively on an occasional frequency

  • Chemical Operator experience in manufacturing plant or degree in chemistry or other scientific field preferred

  • Computer skills

  • Ability to work 12 hour rotating shifts, including overtime

  • Knowledge of standard SAP functions preferred
