GEA's commitment to the development of CMC technology began in 2001 and has reached realization in 2016 with first deliveries of the LEAP engine for commercial narrow body airliners. Orders for LEAP, which features a CMC shroud component, have now reached 40,000 in number, reflecting the success of this product.
