Job Summary

Responsible for the safe daily operation of the Chem Ops Process Laboratories. Interfaces extensively with Operations. Responsible for all aspects of evaluating/testing quality of Chem-Ops products for internal & external customers. This includes obtaining samples from the process and accurately communicating and recording of all test data to operations in a timely manner. Additionally, works with Lab Leader to maintain lab equipment and inventory, and performs troubleshooting as necessary.

• Performing analytical testing and/or use of laboratory instruments to measure process and product parameters.

• Maintain a safe work environment by active participation in ICAARE activities as well as performing required safety audits and inspections.

• Fosters a culture of shared learning on the team and across the unit. Makes information available to document learnings and help others through open communication and institutionalization of learnings in Qualtrax SOPs.

• Identifies and eliminates barriers to executing the work processes as documented. Assists in providing guidance, training, resources, clarification, or cross-site team/unit coordination and communication as necessary to facilitate improvement in work process execution. This includes being a work permit issuer for relevant lab tasks, and potential to support other operational tasks related to product handling.

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 6 months of consistent work experience (Lab/Manufacturing a plus)

• Must qualify in the AP & Resin Lab areas

• High safety and environmental awareness

• Work well within an inclusive team environment

• Ability to communicate with team and other individuals

• Identifies opportunities for continuous improvement

• Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and professionalism

• Takes initiative and demonstrates the desire to learn and develop

• Intermediate level skills in problem solving, trouble shooting, and analytical thinking

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

• Ability to work overtime as required

Desired Skills:

• Chemical Laboratory experience with an understanding of a variety of lab instruments, method development and computer data base management systems.

• Demonstrated mechanical, instrumentation and troubleshooting skills.

• Prior lab experience

Work Availability

Regular, predictable attendance is an essential function of this position. Applicants must be regularly available and willing to work a rotating shift schedule during assigned hours of operation and such other hours as the company determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
