As the Chemical Management Services Manager, you will be responsible for the Chemical Management Program and supporting inventories for multiple customers. You will support/guide program launch, lead all aspects of implementation, and support the program over the life of the contract. You will act as primary contact for customer inquiries/issues associated with the chemical management program and manage PPG supervisors on customer sites guiding them on the overall CMS program.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the implementation of chemical management program at the customer. Implement all defined contract obligations over life of program.
Support the identification and prioritization of annual cost savings projects and the development of appropriate strategies to meet PPG profitability objectives and customer (guaranteed) cost savings goals.
Establish and meet inventory targets in line with ASC working capital goals.
Use ASC resources to work with the customer contacts to perform onsite audits to develop valuable opportunities, cost savings, gain share projects, waste reduction projects, produce supporting documentation/forms as required, and give presentations to customers.
Identify resources, develop, and maintain Project Management timing charts that outline all activities to be accomplished within yearly time frames.
Assist in training of new chemical coordinators and purchasing people that would be an integral part of the Chemical management program.
Manage supervisors, coordinators, analysts, material handlers, truck drivers that are onsite to support customers.
Support PPG chemical management program when supplier issues/problems arise and implement resolutions.
Analysis the best method for distribution transportation, and storage of chemicals for each program.
Work closely with ASC and corporate purchasing functions to further strengthen supplier contacts and development of strategic partnerships with selected suppliers.
Assist in the development of a strategy to increase supplier participation across the ASC network involving aerospace CMS programs.
Implement lean production concepts, including 5s, kaizen, standardized work, and Kanban.
Support implementation of the CMS Hazardous Material Management software and Consignment Software Packages and will act as the liaison between internal and external aerospace and corporate IT resources to achieve strong chemical management reporting processes.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in engineering field or a business related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, technology, purchasing, or technical service is required.
Experience in the following areas is beneficial: business process analysis & improvement, lean & six sigma, quality assurance, strategic sourcing, team facilitation, materials management, MFGPRO, enterprise resource planning (ex. SAP), and cost reduction.
Strong understanding of EHS regulations and processes.
Digital literacy in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project is desired.
Ability to convey a professional image both to internal PPG as well as with the customers and suppliers.
Available to travel up to 30%.
