Essential Function:

The primary function of this position is to repair, maintain, and improve chemical etch and cleaning equipment. This position will act as a key member of the emergency response team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment in work area

  • Recommend and maintain stock of spare parts

  • Implement improvements to work area and processes

  • Responsible for advanced troubleshooting, repairing and modifying manual and automated etch benches, chemical management system (CMS), fume scrubber, ultrasonic parts cleaning systems to POR conditions.

  • Works with engineering on test plans and approval requests for non-POR process conditions.

  • Act as a key member of the facility emergency response team

  • Maintain knowledge of current regulations and best practices related to emergency preparedness

  • Interfaces with chemical equipment Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to coordinate equipment improvements

  • Involved in specification and purchase of cleaning capital equipment.

  • Equipment specialist for all cleaning related process and facilities equipment including Mixed Acid Etch Bench (MAEB), HF Bench, Crest Cleaners, Scrubbers and the CMS.

  • Act as a team leader in spill clean-up and bench repair

  • Follow all company safety policies and report any unsafe conditions to Manufacturing Manager, EHS Manager, and/ or Director of Manufacturing

  • Assist in the application of Lean manufacturing concepts including 5S and TPM

  • Perform tasks/duties related to special projects or assignments

  • Perform other duties as assigned by department management

  • Drive TPM throughout cleaning operations

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must be a high school graduate or have a general education degree (GED)

  • 4-6 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Must be able to successfully complete a respirator physical and become certified in respirator use

  • Experience supporting chemical processing equipment including but not limited to acid etch, caustic etch, and plating

  • Knowledge of and experience with chemical handling safety precautions and safe work practices related to maintenance activities is required

  • Clean room, electrical power, and electronic control system experience is preferred

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures to complete tasks and required documentation; demonstrate solid work performance in an environment requiring a high level of attention to detail and timeliness

  • Ability to wear a respirator and meet OSHA respirator compliance obligations

  • Ability to define, initiate, manage, and execute on projects to improve tool functions and metrics

  • Ability to work independently and in a cross-functional team environment, prioritize tasks, and plan for maintenance is essential

  • Ability to read and comprehend mechanical drawings and electrical schematics

  • Ability to read and comprehend piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs)

  • Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions

  • Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment

  • Must be able to pay close attention to details

  • Must be able to perform successfully under minimum supervision

  • Must be able to operate powered industrial equipment (forklift, scissor lift, powered walk behind)

  • Robotic and automated handling systems experience

  • Must be able to solve ill-defined problems logically and with interpretation

Physical Demands:

The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and; talk or hear.

The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds. The employee regularly is required to lift up to 10 pounds. The vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee will be working in hot and strenuous environments on occasion. The noise level in the environment is moderate.
