JOB TITLE/LOCATION:

Chemical Engineer - Oxford, CT

DESCRIPTION:

Reporting to the New Product and Process Development Group Manager, the position of Chemical Engineer will be responsible for the development and testing of new products and the associated manufacturing processes. The Chemical Engineer will primary work on products and components related to RBC self-lubricating liner products which involve resin, structural and lubricant fillers, composites, improvements in adhesion. Additional development projects include development and troubleshooting of lubricants (greases and oils), bearing seals, cleaning and plating baths, as well as other chemical processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

• Development of new-engineered products for RBC Bearings.

• Provide chemical process development expertise and assistance to RBC Divisions.

• Assist RBC Divisions with manufacturing troubleshooting.

• Perform analytical analyses of current and newly developed products and processing.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors in Chemical Engineering

• Knowledge of thermosetting resins, thermoplastics and elastomers a plus

• Knowledge of composite systems, and manufacturing techniques a plus

• Knowledge of plating principles and practices a plus

• Analytical chemistry knowledge, especially with FTIR and DSC.
