Description:
Complete new product/process introduction activities, including production scale-up of new polymers and assimilation of new/revised processes into the manufacturing facility
Work directly with chemists, operations, and tolling customers concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods
Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
Conduct process improvement activities designed to drive safety, quality, cost, operability or regulatory improvements. These activities can include debottleneck of existing constrained processes, introduction or new equipment and/or technology, understanding customer needs to steer factory output and evaluation of operator interaction with process and equipment to improve efficiency
Participate in product support activities, which include providing technical coverage for manufacturing operations, and developing and maintaining standard operating procedures
Assist in the design, plan layout, and oversee workers that are engaged in constructing, controlling, and improving equipment, to carry out chemical processes on commercial scale
Assist in the design, procurement, and implementation of capital projects
Foster an environment where safety and environmental compliance are a first priority
Complete specific projects or responsibilities assigned by the Chemical Engineering Manager in an accurate and timely manner
