RATE OF PAY: $19.81 - $27.75 / PER HOUR

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

As a Substance Use Disorder Professional serving the Spokane Tribe community, major duties encompass a comprehensive approach to addressing the complex needs of clients struggling with substance use disorders. This includes conducting thorough assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing culturally competent counseling services. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and community resources ensures holistic care and support for clients, while maintaining accurate documentation and advocating for clients' rights within the healthcare system and community. Crisis intervention, ongoing training, and professional development activities are integral components of this role, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, culturally responsive care to individuals and families within the Spokane Tribe community.

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' substance use history, mental health status, and social determinants of health.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients, incorporating evidence-based interventions and cultural considerations.

  • Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions to address substance use issues, co-occurring mental health disorders, and related challenges.

  • Provide education and support to clients and their families on addiction, recovery, relapse prevention, and healthy coping strategies.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare providers, tribal agencies, and community organizations, to coordinate care and support services for clients.

  • Monitor and evaluate clients' progress in treatment, adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize outcomes.

  • Monitor and evaluate urinalysis collection and results.

  • Conduct crisis intervention and provide referrals to additional resources, including detoxification services, residential treatment programs, and mental health services.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of client assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance clinical skills and stay abreast of best practices in substance use disorder treatment.

  • Foster a culturally responsive and trauma-informed approach to care, recognizing and respecting the unique cultural values and traditions of the Spokane Tribe community.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED FOR POSITION:

  • Knowledge of current treatment prevention, aftercare therapy regarding substance use disorders as defined in the DSM 5.

  • Ability to compose letters, reports, gather and analyze data and to speak effectively in public.

  • Ability to evaluate, assess, and develop a treatment plan with SUD clientele.

  • Knowledge of Dual Diagnosis, referral, and treatment.

  • Ability to serve a diverse population and present complex information in an understandable and meaningful way.

  • Ability to evaluate, assess, and develop a treatment plan for clientele who present a variety of legal, personal, and other problems related to substance use disorders.

  • Coordination of substance use disorder services, to include referrals, staffing, court reporting, and related duties in a timely manner.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have an active an unrestricted Washington State Chemical Dependency Professional Certification, or Chemical Dependency Professional Trainee Certification

  • If an SUDPT, must have your first 50 hours of direct supervision experience in a Washington State certified agency.

  • Must maintain a substance use free lifestyle

  • Must maintain a violence free lifestyle

  • Must possess a valid Washington State Driver's License, good driving record and be eligible for Tribal Insurance.

  • Must maintain License/Certification status while employed

  • An Associate Degree in Addiction Studies or Bachelor Degree in the helping field with a focus on Addiction.
