To assist in the set-up of the dining room, serving the meals, and clean-up after meals under the direction of the Kitchen/Dining Room Coordinator, the Part-time Cook, and/or the Director according to established policies and procedures, and objectives of the organization.

Special Features/Requirements:

Knowledge in the use of basic household kitchen equipment. Basic knowledge of proper and safe food handling, storage and serving practices. Follow and adhere to organization, federal/state regulations and guideline, including tenant rights. Maintain a well-groomed appearance, adhering to the dress code of the organization/program.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with meal preparations

  • Dining room set-up and clean-up

  • Serve meals

  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of kitchen, dining room and storage areas

  • Maintain confidentiality

  • Projects a positive image of the organization in dealing with residents, families, business agencies and contacts

Physical Requirements (based on essential functions):

Frequently lifts and carries dish racks weighing up to 50lbs; frequently twists, stoops and bends; frequently lifts at, or above shoulder height, occasionally climbs step stools, or kneels. Frequently works on slippery wet floors, frequently exposed to hot, humid conditions and temperature changes. 95% of work time is spent standing or walking. Must be able to communicate verbally and/or in writing with residents, co-workers, families and public.
