Position Title: CHEF MANAGER - CHATTANOOGA AREA, TN

Reports To: Director of Dining Services

Salary: Starts at $50,000/ year

Other Forms of Compensation: Annual Bonus Eligible

Job Summary

We are seeking a growth minded Chef Manager to join our team! This role manages various kitchen staff and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. This role will be based at a 400+ resident continuing care retirement community in Signal Mountain. This role reports to a Director and manages a team of 6 associates. Anticipated schedule will vary and includes days/evenings/weekends/holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

• Full culinary management of food service operation to include inventory, ordering and receiving

• Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable

• Proficient in menu development, cost controls, purchasing and inventory with a focus on sourcing and utilizing local food products

• Possesses a passion for sustainability

Preferred Qualifications:

• Must have a working knowledge of HACCP

• At least 5 years of culinary management experience in contract foodservice, fine dining setting, or restaurant with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control required

• Extensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation

• Experience with exposition cooking needed

• Knowledge of P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience is desirable

• ServSafe certified is a plus
