Castle Oaks Golf Course is looking for a talented and creative Chef de Cuisine to join our culinary team. We offer exceptional pay, a beautiful work environment, and numerous opportunities for growth and development.

Compensation: $28 - $30 per hour BOE

This is a hands-on position, must be able to do inventory, and cost control. Like a captain of a ship, a chef represents the highest level of the kitchen hierarchy. Our Chef is expected to not only understand complex flavor dynamics and how to create the best menu items but also manage the business side of the kitchen. A chef fills both the supervisor and manager roles within the business, yet still works intimately with his or her team to ensure that things run smoothly.

Our Head chef is the individual running the kitchen on the day-to-day - assuming manager duties, supervising staff, making purchases, and working with the Food and Beverage Manager to create new menus and recipes. This position is a 40 hour work week with rotating weekends off, which is unheard of in the F&B industry

Chef de Cuisine Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all food meets the highest quality standards and is served on time.

  • Planning the menu and designing the plating presentation for each dish.

  • Coordinating kitchen staff and assisting them as required.

  • Hiring and training staff to prepare and cook all the menu items.

  • Stocktaking ingredients and equipment, and placing orders as needed.

  • Enforcing best practices for safety and sanitation in the kitchen.

  • Creating new recipes to regularly update the menu.

  • Keeping track of new trends in the industry.

  • Incorporating feedback from restaurant staff and patrons to make improvements or resolve issues.

Chef de Cuisine Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar position.

  • In-depth knowledge of food principles and best practices.

  • Passion for creating incredible food that delights and attracts customers.

  • Excellent communication skills and leadership qualities.

  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.

  • Creative, innovative thinking.

  • Exceptional standards for cleanliness, health, and safety.

  • Experience managing inventories and stocktaking.
