Description:

The Chef is responsible for developing and executing culinary solutions to meet customer needs and tastes. Offers a wide variety of culinary solutions to meet customer and client needs and tastes. Oversees and manages culinary operations to meet production, presentation, and service standards. Applies culinary techniques to food preparation and manages the final presentation and service of food.

Essential Functions:

  • Leadership
  • Ensure food offerings connect to the Executional Framework. Ensure consistent standards and techniques are applied to the preparation and presentation of food items. Manages and trains kitchen employees. Coach employees by creating shared understanding about what to be achieve and how it is to be achieved. Reward and recognize employees. Plan and execute daily huddles. Complete and maintain all staff records including training records, shift opening/closing checklists and performance data.
  • Client Relationship
  • Develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport for mutually beneficial business relationship. Communicate on-site consumer and local competitor insights.
  • Financial Performance
  • Responsible for delivering food and labor targets.
  • Productivity
  • Full compliance with Operational Excellence fundamentals: managing waste, standard menus, recipes and ingredients through managing customer driven menus and labor standards. Understand end to end supply chain and procurement process and systems, ensure only authorized suppliers are used. Full knowledge and implementation of the Food Framework. Estimate accurate food consumption for appropriate requisitions and/or food purchase. Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with Aramark SAFE food, occupational and environmental safety polices in all culinary and kitchen operations. Comply with all applicable policies, rules and regulations, including but not limited to those relating to safety, health, wage and hour.

Qualifications:

  • Requires at least 2 years experience and 0-2 years in a management role

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Responsibilities The Dining Assistant is responsible for assisting with food preparation, serving and cleanup. Maintains work area in proper order and follows established policies and procedures of the facility while demonstrating high levels of service. Complies with all federal and state regulations. Essential job responsibilities include: Provides exemplary service to our residents, families and guests, ensuring all feel welcome and are given responsive, friendly and courteous service. Serves meals to residents per diet order and portion size. All food will be served at the proper temperature. Maintains a clean, sanitary, safe and efficiently organized work area. Products will be labeled, dated and rotated ensuring an adequate, fresh inventory of food and supplies. Operates all equipment, specific to duties, in a safe manner. Completes opening and closing duties as assigned. Accomplishes routine, daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities. Notifies supervisor if any changes in residents' personal health is observed. Responds to resident requests and special requests, concerns or complaints and promptly notifies supervisor. Partners effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment, supports all employees within the community as directed by the leadership team. Assists with special functions as directed. Demonstrates respect for facility property and supplies. Qualifications Minimum Required Qualifications: * 16 years of age * Current valid driver's license and proof of vehicle insurance (if applicable) * Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written * Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations Preferred Qualifications: * High school diploma or GED * Commercial kitchen experience * Knowledge of kitchen equipment * Previous senior care experience * Serv Safe or other food safety and sanitation training/certification Equal Opportunity Employer Ecumen is an equal opportunity employer.
