Summary
The Stage Check Airman position is responsible for evaluating students in accordance with training course outlines, FAA Airman Certification Standards and Practical Test Standards, and general operations procedures.
Essential Job Functions
Ensuring operational safety and conformance to company, local, and FAA regulations and policies
Conducting Part 141 stage checks for approved courses in accordance with the current approved training course outline (TCO)
Provide detailed debriefings to instructors, team leaders, managers or other employees involved in the
Provide guidance to instructors regarding improvements to students' training.
Maintain the quality (pass rate) of flight training at or above 80% through consistent and comprehensive
See that each assigned student is re-scheduled if a training delay occurs
Maintain accurate Flight Schedule Pro records regarding evaluations.
Conduct student training record audits
Ensure that the policies and procedures of the Flight Operations Manual are maintained.
Assists the Flight Leadership Team (Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, and DPEs) in developing training standards for training procedures
Assists the Flight Leadership Team (Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, and DPEs) in the continuous development and improvement of the pilot
Submits required reports as directed
Works with the Flight Leadership Team (Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, and DPEs) concerning issues related to pilot performance issues (both CFI and training pilots)
Provide evaluation flights/ground for inbound transfer students in order to provide training recommendations as appropriate to the TCO
Overnight flight or night flights may be required
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience
High School diploma or GED required
Bachelor's degree preferred
One (1) year of Flight Instruction experience is highly preferred
Certificates, License, Registrations

Physical Demands
This position requires a person to stand or sit for a prolonged period, lift, and carry up to fifty pounds, along with monitor engine operations of functioning, and communicate and coordinate vehicle or aircraft movement. This position also requires a person to maneuver an aircraft for extended periods of time in all various types of weather conditions. The long days can be physically demanding.
