Responsibilities

  • This position will be responsible for the design, development, timing and production release of Wheel and Wheel Trim systems.

  • Other responsibilities include quality improvements, cost reduction, weight reduction, efficiency improvements and communicating technical product status to management.

Qualifications

  • BSME, BSCE or BS in Materials Engineering from an ABET accredited University.

  • Exposure to Wheels, Wheel Finish, Wheel Trim, Wheel Assembly; Paint background, chrome plating.

  • Will consider entry-level candidates to experienced (any level).

  • 1 year or more of experience of product development in these areas preferred.

  • Self-starter with demonstrated problem solving ability.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated ability to summarize and present work to management and cross-functional teams

  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office applications (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chassis system/component engineering experience in Wheel, Wheel Trim, or Wheel Finish.

  • Plating or painting experience is a desired plus.

  • Solid understanding of system/component design/development.

  • Experience with Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA).

  • Experience with Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R).

  • Experience with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).

  • General understanding of NX, TeamCenter and CoDeP

VIEW JOBS 11/19/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-17T00:00 Job Description CES Senior Software Engineer Continental Engineering Services (CES) is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to lead basic software and algorithm activities for various invehicle automotive electronics from the Continental portfolio. Core Responsibilities: * Provide technical leadership, coach and mentor personnel within the department (CES NAFTA). * Develop, maintain and communicate software/system development content and time estimates. * Provide support to application teams for identification of root cause for issues and corrective solutions. * Responsible for software and system products developed by CES. * Lead technical discussions with internal and external customers, prepare and present response. * The ideal candidate is disciplined, and can foster a team environment. * Assigned to task force programs/projects to provide technical leadership. * Conduit between departments to facilitate and ensure appropriate exchange of information. * Support business development and customer visits from a technical perspective. * Assistance with other tasks as needed and determined by Management. Additional Responsibilities: * Ensure all aspects of production processes for software and calibration programming are properly verified and validated. * Software project management as needed. * Responsible for development of new products, and changes to existing products. * Responsible to lead projects and people to meet customer expectations. * Provide feedback for performance evaluation and merit rating of Junior engineers. * Actively mentors, coaches and provides guidance to developing engineers and team members within the organization. * Integrate useful knowledge, concepts, idea's from other areas. * Translates customer requirements into designs; guides design decisions; recommends advanced new designs and/or process or changes to existing designs and/or process to meet requirements * Independently resolves complex problems not covered by existing procedures or practices * Defines and implements best practices Influences management through understandable and customer oriented presentations. Core Capabilities: * Experience with Automotive Electronic/Electromechanical Products * Experience with 8 – 32 bit microcontrollers * Good communication skills with CES team, internal & external customers * Advanced knowledge through extensive directly related experience * Creates value through the ability to integrate knowledge from different areas of specialized knowledge * Innovator to solve difficult/complex problems. * Simultaneous activities relating to competing objectives are necessary; extended time frames for achievement are involved * Determines own priorities and may deviate from established procedures and practices as long as results meet standards of acceptability (e.g., volume, quality, timeliness, accuracy) Job Requirements Required Qualifications: * Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering discipline * 3+ years of engineering experience with electronic products, and 8-32 bit microcontrollers * 3+ years of production software and calibration programming experience * Must be willing to travel (approx 20%) supporting internal and customer development trips * Experience with BSP architecture Preferred Qualifications: * Masters degree in engineering, or MBA * 5+ years of software engineering experience within chassis control systems * Advanced knowledge through extensive directly related experience or postgraduate education.
