Chargeback Specialist

The Chargeback Associate supports the Financial Services Accounts Receivable group by managing and resolving unauthorized deductions on major accounts. This role is critical in overseeing the entire dispute lifecycle, requiring excellent communication skills and a detail-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Research and dispute open claims and chargebacks/deductions on customer portals.

• Communicate effectively with internal departments (Sales & Customer Care) to expedite chargeback resolutions.

• Maintain clear and concise records of disputes, including outcomes of recovery or denials.

• Catalog Tax Exemption Certificates in Avalara.

• Enter data for Credit Memos as directed by Credit Analysts.

• Escalate issues to the Credit Specialist as needed.

• Scan, research, and retrieve proof of deliveries and packing slips for disputes.

• Perform other duties as directed by the Credit Specialist Lead.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma with at least two years of experience in handling disputes and chargebacks/customer portals.

• Prior experience in accounts payable or a related finance field.

• Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives.

• Strong multitasking and time management skills in the face of multiple deadlines.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and JDE One World software.

• Proficiency in MS Office applications and JDE.

Additional Information:

• The position requires a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think analytically are essential.

• Experience with Avalara and familiarity with tax exemption certificates is a plus.

• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
