Responsibilities

Leadership
Function as a mentor and coach.
Assist with preparation of unit schedules, including mandatory education scheduling.
Establish daily work plans for the team.
Guide peer interviewing process in the selection of unit staff.
Provide input and feedback to the nurse manager in regards to team performance management.
Conduct on the job training and education.
Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care according to standards.
Maintain ongoing compliance with regulatory standards through rounding.
Fiscal Management
Assist in development and achievement of departmental budgets and goals.
Assist with payroll activities such as monitoring timekeeping.
Manage material and supply usage.
Clinical Competence
Maintain thorough knowledge and competence in areas of management and clinical practice.
Participate in educational programs to enhance clinical/management experience.
Serve as a clinical resource in an area of specialty.
Role model clinical and professional excellence.
Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required upon hire
Ideal Candidates Will Have
A bachelor's degree in nursing
At least three years of supervisory experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to delegate, lead teams, think critically, resolve conflict, and manage time/workloads.
