Providence is calling a Registered Nurse

  • Core Charge Nurse

  • Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Unit (0.8 FTE, Evenings) to Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center in Oregon City, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Provide professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in an acute care environment.

  • Be responsible for the workflow of the unit under the direction of the unit management team.

  • Determine unit priorities for assigned timeframe with regard to patient care, patient flow (bed control), staffing and distribution of resources.

  • Be responsible for ensuring adherence to standards and regulations.

  • Be accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan.

  • Practice in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice.

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Nursing degree/diploma required upon hire

  • All Registered Nurses (RNs) without a minimum of a bachelor's degree in nursing must obtain a bachelor's degree in nursing or higher within 3 years of hire.

  • An RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a Bachelor's degree in nursing

  • Unencumbered RN license in Oregon and wherever care is delivered

  • If RN holds a multistate license through the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC), the RN must adhere to the requirements of licensure in the new state(s) of hire.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA) - (BLS Provider), American Red Cross (ARC) - (BLS for Health Care Provider), or Military Training Network (MTN) (Healthcare Provider) upon hire.

  • 12 months of acute care experience working with the patient population similar to the Child/Adolescent Psychiatric Unit -or- completion of the specialty residency located at Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center

  • Demonstrated leadership accomplishments

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing

  • National Certification in department of hire

  • Charge nurse experience, to include leading teams

Our Mental Health Associates are integral members of the interdisciplinary team that consists of Psychiatrists, Mental Health Therapists, Social Workers, Nurses and more. In collaboration with the treatment team, the Mental Health Specialists works with the children and adolescents on meeting their treatment plan goals. We have Mental Health Specialists in the unit 24/7. This position is a 0.6 FTE on evening shift. In this position, you will: * Work with other members of inpatient unit staff to provide patient care in a variety of job duties, and under the direct supervision of the RN, or the Mental Health Professional Therapist, or the Program Director, CAPU. * Provide hospital level and focused patient care, support, and milieu management for patients with behavioral health conditions and illness. * Observe and report on patient conditions under the direction of an RN or other designated clinical staff * Be responsible for and/or supports the daily and various therapeutic activities care of the patients. * Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary treatment team in the initial developing and modification of treatment care plans both during the admission process, and during the in-patient hospitalization. * In all activities, be responsible to act in accordance with our Mission and Core Values and work to consider our guiding principles of: "Know Me, Care for Me and Ease My Way" with each patient.
