JOB SUMMARY:

Registered nurse who demonstrates critical thinking skills within the purpose and scope of services. Assumes responsibility and accountability for proactive, efficient personal work flow.

Takes personal responsibility to communicate with the team to ensure resources and work processes are operating smoothly and efficiently. The COE nurse will electronically review physician orders for technical accuracy in the PatientKeeper platform. PatientKeeper is HCA's physician interface that helps healthcare facilities and professionals maximize time, operate with flexibility, ensure patient safety and access life-saving data all within one platform. The comprehensive data and simplified user experience, within both desktop and mobile settings, help providers deliver superior care when it matters most.

PURPOSE:

The COE Nurse is a temporary facility resource that is needed during the PatientKeeper CPOE deployment. This role is responsible for completing the transcription check of orders that are entered into PatientKeeper by the provider and transcribed into Meditech by the Pharmacist. This individual is also responsible for the verification and transcription check of orders that are interfaced from PatientKeeper into Meditech through either HL7 interface or scripting.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary responsibilities include the following:
1.Transcription check and acknowledgement of orders that are entered into PatientKeeper by the provider and transcribed into Meditech by the Pharmacist
2.Verification and acknowledgement of orders that are entered into PatientKeeper by the provider and entered into Meditech by either and interface or scripting solution.
3.Verification of interface or scripting of discharge medication reconciliation
4.Communication and escalation of issues or challenges

Preferred:

  • Existing knowledge of the facility's clinical/operational processes, challenges and Meditech environment preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

  • Customer service orientation and/or training

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Nursing degree required, Bachelor's degree required
