The Women and Children's Center has been recognized as a Blue Distinction Center+ for Maternity Care as part of the Blue Distinction Specialty Care program. The Women and Children's Center provides family-centered care throughout the childbirth process. Our family birthing suites offer a private, comfortable, secure environment with homelike surroundings during labor and after childbirth. Each labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum suite is equipped with technological advances, including an advanced, wireless fetal monitor system that allows mothers to have freedom of mobility, which can help with the birthing process and make mothers more comfortable.

Our infant security system offers safety for mother and child. Obstetric nurses at the Women's Center are highly skilled in labor support and family centered nursing. If baby requires special attention, new parents can be reassured by the technology and expertise available in our Level 1 nursery.

The Charge Nurse assumes shift responsibility and accountability for the planning and provision of direct and indirect nursing care to the patient, family, care partner and appropriate others. Coordinates multi-disciplinary team members, directs and facilitates nursing staff in obtaining safe, optimal health care outcomes.

Supports activities that meet the facility vision, mission and goals. Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

Job Requirements

Graduate of an accredited or NLN approved RN program. BSN Preferred

One to Three years supervisory experience Preferred

Current AHA BLS required at time of hire. NRP required or obtained within 90 days of hire

Current Florida Nursing License

Must successfully pass all pre-employment assessments and requirements of the facility

Minimum of one full year full time or three years part time experience in acute care speciality nursing.
