The Charge Nurse will serve as the clinical leader on the unit and will be responsible for coordinating nursing care for patients on assigned unit. Participates in patient/family teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel to maintain standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Effectively provides age appropriate care. The Charge Nurse may have the opportunity to advance to other clinical or leadership positions in the organization based on education, experience, and career goals.
Minimum Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in State of California
Licensure/Certification: BCLS, ACLS, NRP required. Certification in specialty preferred.
Preferred Education: BSN preferred. Advanced degree as it applies to area of specialty preferred.
Minimum Experience: Minimum 3 years recent acute care RN experience in the same or a similar unit. Previous charge nurse experience and/or relevant leadership experience preferred.
Preferred Experience & Demonstrated Abilities: Staff Nurse III preferred.
