Overview

As a Charge Nurse at CHI Health's Midlands Hospital, you'll oversee a department of frontline nurses caring for patients. Your previous experience in acute care, LTC, or nursing homes adds tremendous value to our nursing team.

You'll advocate for your fellow nurses as you support them in reaching their full potential, which aligns with your department's operational goals and objectives.

To thrive in this role, you need to be accountable and confident. You're an excellent communicator in 1:1 interactions and in front of groups. It's also important for you to be comfortable holding tough conversations, as you are responsible for the performance of your people and your unit.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as leader and teammate

  • Ensure your direct reports and department are positioned to deliver the best care possible to our patients

  • Maintain a high level of engagement with the floor- visibly connecting with nurses, patients, and families

  • Attend meetings with leadership to learn about new initiatives, areas for improvement, etc. and share that information with your team

  • Monitor productivity and efficiency of your department

  • Mentor people on your team. Share your knowledge and confidence with assistant nurse managers, charge nurses, and others

Qualifications

What You'll Need

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license that allows you to practice in our state

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required upon hire

Designed for a home-like experience with private rooms and family-style dining, we are a national leading model for &quot;culture change&quot; in long-term care facilities. Each of our eight cottages is home to 13 residents who benefit from 24-hour nursing care services. We're structured with universal workers (Elder Assistants C.N.A/CMA) providing the daily care for our residents and a team of nurses overseeing the cares and the physician's orders.</p><p>The Clinical Care Coordinator supervises and evaluates team members, is part of the multidisciplinary team, and works with the patients and families to provide assistance from admission to discharge.
