The Charge Capture Analyst is responsible for assisting department leads to ensure their charges are entered and reconciled in a timely manner. Assists department leads with editing, submitting and deleting charges as necessary, and with running and interpreting revenue and usage reports. Serves as a liaison to clinical department directors and managers, HIM coding resources, Information Technology, Patient Financial Services and Patient Access Services with regard to charge capture.
An Associate degree in Business or related field or equivalent working experience. A minimum of 3-5 years recent experience in hospital billing, hospital collections, payor contracting or claims department within a health insurance setting.
Knowledge of coding guidelines, both ICD-10-CM and CPT-4. Proficient in payment review systems, hospital information systems, and coding methodologies. Strong computer skills with a thorough knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with various levels of the organization on revenue cycle related issues. Excellent organizational and analytical skills, good written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
