After stepping away from the workplace to care for children, aging parents or other family obligations, the road to return to work can be challenging, and at times intimidating. This is where Chapter Next can be part of your solution.
Chapter Next is a 12-16 week paid returnship hosted by RMS. Candidates who have taken an employment hiatus for at least 2+ years will be eligible to apply to this program.
During this returnship participants will become part of a community of similarly experienced professionals with challenging work scopes that contribute to the great innovation produced by Lockheed Martin. Selected candidates will be exposed to comprehensive training, professional development opportunities, networking opportunities, and individual based mentoring

This returnship position is for a Manufacturing Engineer working in the Aerostructures Engineering group in Stratford, CT.
The selected individual will contribute to the organization in the following ways:
Responsibilities include tasks from the design phase to the manufacturing/test phase.
During the design phase the candidate's responsibilities will include generating work instructions and ordering tooling to execute fabrication or procurement of airframe details, assemblies and installations. ME will work with the design engineers during basic and detail design phases to assure design is producible and can be fabricated to meet cost and schedule targets.
During the manufacturing/test phase the candidate will provide technical support to Operations during aircraft assembly and respond to Sikorsky airframe supplier inquiries. ME also participates in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost of poor quality using ACE tools. The ME candidate will perform all of the above in accordance with Sikorsky Engineering Standard Work and may be called upon to generate additional standard work if required.
Engineering Degree preferred
Basic Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) skills.
CATIA experience is a plus
